Need to Saw a Large Petoskey

    in Club Chat

I came upon a very large Petoskey and would like to have some "slabs" cut off the back. Does anyone know where I can go to get it cut? I was thinking a marble/granite fabricator but do not know of any in the area. Suggestions?

Rent a tile cutter. How big is it?

Very big. Dimension is about 22 inches by 15 inches by 4 inches. Weight is around 80 pounds. It would need to be a big tile cutter.

Holy cow! Where did find that? Lower Peninsula? Upper? Lake Michigan? That's so amazing! Lucky you! You don't have to tell me exactly where you found it. I was just curious. Anyway, I will ask my friend how to cut it for you.

Thanks for asking for me. Found around petoskey, Lake Michigan in the water and submerged. Took 3 people to get it out.

It is so big, it could make some nice trays/pieces. Hard to polish given its size. I might need a cement cutter. .
